Dade County Sheriff's Department Nabs Fugitive, Reports Arrests




On Saturday, Sept. 24, Dade County Sheriff's deputies along with Walker County deputies, acting on a tip, went to a residence on Highway 157 on Lookout Mountain, where they apprehended Shiann Tabitha Kandcer (left), of 801 Mountain Shadows Drive, Wildwood, who was a fugitive from justice. There were outstanding warrants in Hamilton county for Ms. Kandcer. Sheriff Cross would like to thank the Dade and Walker County deputies for their vigilance in bringing fugitives to justice.

The Sheriff's Department also announced the following arrests for the past week. All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty.


Cory Michael Bowen (right), 35, of Hattiesburg, Miss, was arrested by Georgis SP Joe Geddie Slaten was arrested by GSP State Patrol Officer Joe Geddie on Sunday, Sept. 25. Bown was charged with DUI, open container violation, marijuana less than one ounce, speeding, seat belt violation and possession of drug-related objects. He was detained in the jail.


Also on Sunday, Sept. 25, Joe Geddie arrested Keith Alan Slaten (left), 41, of Fort Payne, Ala., for violation of the open container law, marijuana, less than one ounce and possession and use of drug-related objects. He was released on a $3544 bond.

Austin Lamar Gibson, 23, of Wildwood (below, right) was arrested on Sept. 22 by Drug Task Force Officer Matt Cole, for possession of methamphetamine. He was detained at the jail.


Brittany Nicole Ivey (below), 20, of Wildwood, was also arrested by Matt Cole on Sept. 22 and charged with possession of methamphetamine. She was released on $5000 bond.



Natrone Jerrod Miller (right), 20, of Leesburg, Ala., was arrested on Sept. 23 by Georgia State Patrolman Joe Geddie and charged with possession of marijuana, less than one ounce. He was released on $2644 bond.


Huey Lee Westerfield (left), 41, of Trenton, was arrested on Sept. 20 by Trenton Police Officer Chip Geddie and charged with possession of marijuana, less than one ounce, and possession of a schedule IV controlled substance. He was released on $2000 bond.
