Great news! The Georgia Public Library Service has partnered with the Michael C. Carlos Museum to provide FREE Family Passes that will cover up to six admissions to the Southeast’s premier ancient art museum!

The Carlos Museum, located at Atlanta’s Emory University, has major collections of art objects from ancient Egypt, Nubia, the Near East, Greece, Rome, Africa, Asia and the Americas, as well as a collection of works on paper from the Renaissance to the present.

The passes will be available at each of our four branch libraries, including Dade, beginning Wednesday, Oct. 12. All you need is your library card to check out the pass, which will be good for a full week. (But make sure you either renew it or turn it in on time, because late fees are $3 a day!!!)

Next week’s Ready-to-Read class is about scarecrows.

We have a new resource that we’re very excited about. We have people coming in all the time asking for legal forms like bills of sale, rent agreements, divorce papers, et cetera, and it’s often difficult to find free forms online. We now have a wonderful resource of all kinds of FREE legal forms which can be accessed online through GALILEO, a program provided by the state of Georgia. You can come by the library and we will show you how to access this site, or call and we can give you the GALILEO password to find them on your home computer. The GALILEO password is needed to access it, and although we cannot publish the password, we can give it out to patrons at the library or by phone.
