Writer's picture: Robin Ford WallaceRobin Ford Wallace

"Please help your community," plead organizers of the ongoing Dade Coat and Blanket Drive. Cindy Cross and Teri West have extended the drive through Sunday.

You can donate clean garments and blankets in person at the Dade County High School varsity football game this Friday beginning at 7:30 p.m.--a drop box will be located just inside the entrance--or at Saturday night's Zombie Walk on the Trenton town square from 6:30-8 p.m.

If you cannot make it to one of these functions, there are drop boxes for laundered items located at Citizens Bank, Bank of Dade and the Dade County Sheriffs office.

Organizers say they especially need coats for children and youth but will gratefully accept adult sizes as well.

The coat/blanket drive will end on Sunday. If there are any remaining items left over after being dispersed throughout the community, these items will be taken to the homeless in Chattanooga.
