Cindy Cross and I would like to thank the community for their donations of coats, blankets and monetary funds for the coat drive to benefit the community. It was a great success and many local families will benefit from your generosity.
The original plan was to take any items left over to the homeless in Chattanooga, but I'm happy to say that these items were given to Trenton Ministry Center to help in their annual coat drive that they will be having for the community later in the year. All monetary funds that were donated will be put to good use by purchasing toys to be given to children in our community at Christmas time.
I'd like to express a special thank you to the following: Bank of Dade, Citizens Bank, and the Sheriff's office for being a drop-off point. - Daniel Case and Gross Furniture for donating boxes - Mr Ingle and Coach Warren for allowing us to take up donations at the football game. - Jon Wood for donating flyers to hand out to the community - Trenton Ministry Center for taking the remaining donated items.
I'd also like to say a very special thank you to the following people: Christina West, Jonathan West, Kaci Gladden, and Alex McAlpin. Thank you so much for helping collect, separate, and deliver items as well as helping to hand out flyers. These young people were always willing to help at a minute's notice with whatever was needed, and it is much appreciated.
