This shot of the latest Lookout Mountain wildfire was taken from Trenton in midafternoon.

On Saturday night, Georgia Forestry Commission rangers once again have their hands full as yet another wildfire rages out of control, this one on Lookout Mountain in the West Brow area.

West Brow volunteer firefighters are standing by as backup as GFC battles the flames, said District 4 County Commissioner Allan Bradford, who is attached to the neighboring New Salem Volunteer Fire Department.

Bradford confirmed colloquial reports that Lookout Flight Park had been evacuated. The problem, he said, was a full 1000-gallon propane tank at the facility that the firefighters feared might be a peril should the flames get too near.

Katie Bien in Wildwood reported that neighbors throughout the community had helped move the hang gliders to safety.

Pat Stockett, an information officer appointed by the Georgia Forestry Commission to dispense information, was not immediately available on Saturday night, but The Dade Planet will report details as they become available.
