Thanks to all our patrons who cleared up their library fines by bringing in canned food for the Food Pantry. Some people even brought in extra cans and told us to use them to take care of others’ fines. We have several boxes of food to donate now.
The elves have been to the library taking down fall leaves and Thanksgiving decorations and putting up the Christmas decorations. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Tell the kids that our mailboxes are out if they want to drop off their letters to Santa.
After taking a break to celebrate Thanksgiving, our Ready-to-Read class will resume on Thursday, Dec. 1, at 10:30 a.m. This class will be on Sharing and Giving, an appropriate subject for the Christmas season.
Need some stocking stuffers for Christmas? We have some handmade items for sale as well as a few jewelry items.
The library is finally fully staffed! We want to welcome our newest staff member Ursula Usry. In addition to working part-time at the library, Ursula also teaches at Northeast Alabama Community College. She has spent the last 15 years traveling and working overseas which must have been very interesting. Come in and meet her. She works on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
