Drug Task Force Raids Wildwood Operation

On Dec. 1, the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force made three drug arrests after receiving numerous complaints of narcotic use and sales at a Wildwood residence.

The task force, with the assistance of the Dade County Sheriff's Department, visited 17285 Highway 11 North with a search warrant in hand. The home was thoroughly searched and various items suggesting the sale of marijuana were located along with multiple firearms.

Continuing the investigation, officers found approximately $20,000 in cash which they took into evidence, the residents of the home not being employed and the evidence of narcotic sales being present. Marijuana, methamphetamine, cash and weapons were among the items seized.

Three subjects were ultimately arrested and charged in this case. Michael L. Gideon (left) of Henegar, Ala., was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine. He has since been released on a $10,000.00 bond.

Kevin Light (below) and Theresa Light of Wildwood were also arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Kevin Light has since been released on a $5,000 bond.

Sheriff Ray Cross said he is pleased by the community's involvement with law enforcement agencies. "Together we can make progress and move these drug dealers out of our county," he said.
