The Ready-to-Read program about Christmas will be on Thursday, December 22, at 10:30 a.m.
The library will be closed on Friday, December 23, and Saturday, December 24. for the Christmas holidays and will reopen on Tuesday, December 27, for regular hours.
We had several people come in the evening of the parade to check out our Tech Petting Zoo and all the new tech gadgets we have. Thanks to Seth Houts for helping out with that.
As the weather turns cold on us, sometimes we get caught unprepared. If this happens, check out the Christmas tree in front of the library. There are plastic bags filled with gloves, mittens, scarves, and hats. Help yourself.
Patrons may use their library cards to check out passes to the Michael C. Carlos Museum on the Emory University Campus in Atlanta. The Family Pass is valid for up to six general admission passes; it is not valid for events, program fees or audio tours.
The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday.
It’s not too late for kids to drop off their letters to Santa Claus in the mailboxes on the counters at the library.
I have another book recommendation this week—this one is a junior book (for middle grades), but it’s a pretty substantial one, over 300 pages. The book is The War That Saved My Life by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley. I came across the book while doing my volunteer work at the library and was intrigued by the title and checked it out for my great-niece who was then a fourth- grader. I ended up reading it before I passed it on to her and it is one of the best books I’ve read this year.
