In a separate traffic stop made by DeKalb County Sheriff’s Deputies on County Road 57 in the Dawson area, a search of the vehicle turned up a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and a little over $4000 in cash. Matthew David Jones(right), 39, and Krystle Croft Taylor, 31 (below), both of Dawson, were arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Once Taylor was at the DeKalb County Detention Center, methamphetamine was found on her person, leading to an additional charge of promoting prison contraband, 2nd.

Sheriff Harris thanks the DeKalb County Drug and Major Crimes Unit, DeKalb deputies and the Geraldine, Albertville and Crossville police departments for their assistance in making these arrests.

On a different incident also on Wednesday, a joint operation was conducted among the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, DeKalb County Drug and Major Crimes Unit and Geraldine Police Department.

During the operation, Ronald Troy Bodine (below, right), 52, of Horton, was arrested for electronic solicitation of a child. Bodine attempted to contact a 14-year-old female by way of Facebook. The Sheriff’s Department got involved with the case when an adult family member contacted the office. Bodine was arrested when he came to Geraldine thinking he was meeting the 14-year-old.

Sheriff Harris said: “Because this family member contacted us on this case, and the assistance of Geraldine Police Department and DeKalb County Drug and Major Crimes Unit, we were able to make this arrest. We are glad that we were able to get Bodine off the internet and off the street.”
