Library News: Snap Up Used Books and Movies to Get You Through Winter

We hope everyone saw our Book Club selection list in last week’s paper. It is also posted on the Friends of the Dade County Georgia Public Library Facebook page and there are copies on the counter at the library. The Book Club will meet on Tuesday, January 17, to discuss Miss Peregrine’s School for Peculiar Children.

Our Ready-to-Read program for Thursday, January 12, is about hibernation. It begins at 10:30 a.m.

On Saturday, January 14, we will be taping “Live History” again, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. We would like to get as many Dade citizens as we can to come in and record their memories and stories for our Live History video. We will also be taping on Wednesday, January 18, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We have some prompt questions to help you get started.

We will have computer classes on Tuesday, January 24, at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. These will be on Word 2010. Call and reserve a spot—(706) 657-7857. The classes are FREE.

We’re having a used book sale at the library. Hardbacks are $1 and paperbacks are 50 cents, or get a sackful for $5. You can’t beat our prices. We also have some VHS tapes for sale.

Expecting bad weather? After you get your milk and bread, come by the library and stock up on books and movies to get you through it.
