Make GREAT BIG copies at the library with our new GREAT BIG copier

If you have a picture to submit for our “Captured” project, please submit it this week, either electronically or by bringing it by the library to be copied. Include your name and a title for the picture. It does not have to be an old picture; it could have been taken recently. It could be people, places, events, scenery, anything that says “Dade County” to you. These will be included in a book.

We had a good crowd–15–at our recent Book Club meeting to discuss Jacksonland.

Next month’s book is Mister Mercedes by Stephen King. It is a mystery/thriller and the first book of a trilogy. The Book Club meets at the library on the third Tuesday evening of each month.

We have a Books Are Fun (now Collective Goods) display at the library through Thursday, March 2. There are sets of children’s books, a Georgia clock, several toys, cookbooks, a solar lantern, lap desk and much, much more. Prices are very good.

The Prime Time Family Reading program will begin on Thursday, March 2. It’s not too late to register. This program is aimed at children 6 years of age and older. The program will run through April 13. Prime Time will meet on Thursday evening and supper will be provided and children will receive free books.

This GREAT BIG copier makes GREAT BIG prints!

Do you have photos you would like to have enlarged? We now have a copier at the library that will make copies up to 22x34. We can make copies on plain white paper or on photo paper. This copier was bought with money the library received from a grant.

This week at Ready-to-Read we will be celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday. Come and join us on Thursday at 10:30 a.m.

The library will be participating in our second annual Read to Lead celebration here at Veterans Park in front of the library on Saturday, March 18. More on this later!
