Don't Forget Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet This Saturday



The Dade County Chamber of Commerce reminds all that its annual awards banquet is this Saturday night, March 18. Festivities start at 6 p.m. at the Trenton Civic Center. Tickets are $20 and include a dinner catered by Thatcher's Barbecue, door prizes, music and the Chamber's first-ever "roast." The roast victim this year will be none other than Dade's own county boss, Ted Rumley.

As always, the Chamber will honor outstanding Dade citizens and institutions at the dinner. For the C of C's Bill O'Neal Award, nominees are Reece Fauscett, Carolyn Bradford, Larry Moore, Lloyd Gass and George Nelson. For Educator of the Year, Lynne Heath, Chris Chance, Tracy Blevins, Stephen Walden and Tonya Gatlin have been nominated.

Corporation of the Year candidates are Southeast Lineman Training Center, McDonald's, Vanguard, Citizens Bank and Lake Region. For Nonprofit of the Year, Dade First, Dade County Historical Society and the American Legion have been nominated. Small Business of the Year possibles are Brikwoo, Guthrie's, State Farm, Matt Mayfield and,Thatcher's BBQ.

For the Chamber's coveted Citizen of the Year award, the Chamber is considering Peter Cervelli, Donna Street, Gen. Bob Woods, Will Garrett and Matt Mayfield.
