Superintendent Closes Dade Schools For Wednesday

Dade County Schools Superintendent Jan Harris just made the call to cancel classes at all Dade schools tomorrow, Wednesday April 5, "due to the threat of inclement weather."

The Wednesday forecast locally is for "strong storms."

Dade, especially the Dade school system, has taken the weather dead seriously since a tornado in April 2011 ripped the roof off Dade Elementary while children and teachers looked on in terror.

The Planet will pass along any updates as they become available.
