Festival of Life Clears $16,000 for Honorees

Dade County Festival of Life organizers on Tuesday presented two local women checks for $8000 apiece, proceeds of FOL's fourth annual benefit fundraiser on Saturday.

The Festival of Life is a local fundraiser meant to benefit local residents with life-changing illnesses that put them into financial hardship. Karen Gass (left) and Brenda Kesler Gass (below), both battling cancer, were this year's beneficiaries.

Organizer Cindy Cross said this year's festival was well attended and thanked Dade for its generosity toward its own.
