On Friday, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call from a female calling in about a domestic violence situation on County Road 232 on Lookout Mountain. DeKalb County deputies, Alabama State Troopers and DeKalb County investigators responded. When they arrived at the residence, they observed a male subject facedown and unresponsive in the roadway behind the residence. The DeKalb County Ambulance Service was called to the scene.

The man was identified as Alberto Pablo Felipe, 36, of Fort Payne. A short time after the ambulance service arrived, Coroner Tom Wilson arrived and pronounced Felipe dead. District Attorney Mike O’Dell was notified and he ordered an autopsy. Felipe’s body was transported by DeKalb County Coroner’s office to Department of Forensic Science in Huntsville for autopsy.

“Investigators along with deputies have worked all weekend and are continuing on following up on information today as we wait for the results of the autopsy," said DeKalb Sheriff Jimmy Harris. "This is an ongoing investigation and no further information can be given at this time.”
