Library News: Lego Expo This Thursday!

There will be a Family Parent Cafe at the library on Tuesday, June 27, 2 -3 p.m. Join us for a journey around the world without ever leaving the library! Taste samples from around the world and learn tips and ways you can do fun activities with your family for a low cost. RSVP Hope at 706-844-2989 or Lela at 423-618-0876.

We have two programs for kids this week. On Wednesday afternoon from 2-4 p.m., kids may join us for Building like Doozers. These are hands-on building activities with different materials and kids may drop in any time during this time period.

On Thursday the 29th, we will have our Lego Expo from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Entry forms are available at the front desk. Kids use their own Legos to create their designs. Lego creations can be brought in on June 28 or on the day of the Lego Expo. Everyone who has an entry in the Expo will be entered in a drawing for some Lego sets.

We had to postpone our June Book Club meeting to Tuesday, June 27, because of conflicting schedules. Our book for July is The Boys in the Boat, a nonfiction book by Daniel James Brown. It is about nine Americans and their epic quest for gold medals at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. This meeting will be on Tuesday, July 18, at 7 p.m. at the library.

We will have two more Summer Reading programs for kids during the month of July. On Thursday, July 6, we will have a movie beginning at 10:30 a.m. I will post the title next week. On Thursday, July 13, we will have our final program, which will be a visit from the Chattanooga Zoo. We will have our Grand Prize Drawing on this day as well.
