On Tuesday, the Dade County Sheriff's Office, along with the Lookout Mountain Drug Task Force and Governor Nathan Deal's Drug Task Force Aviation Unit, seized over 50 marijuana plants from inside Dade County.
The plants were found from outside a residence in the 400 block of Wells Road on Sand Mountain. Doyle L Wilborn (left) was arrested for possession/manufacturing of marijuana with the intent to distribute, and also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Other firearms were recovered at the residence as well. Wilborn has been booked into the Dade County Jail.
In the 900 block of Mason Road, a large marijuana plant (right) was seized as well. The investigation as to the owner of this plant is still ongoing.
Just across the county line in Walker County in the Head River area, a very large crop of marijuana was seized. Over 1,200 plants were found at this location.
