Dr. Jan Harris, superintendent of schools, has just issued a closure notice for all Dade County schools for Monday and Tuesday. Gov. Deal has declared a state of emergency because of killer storm Irma, which is currently ravaging parts further south, and because of the threat of severe weather resulting here the super is evidently opting for safe over sorry.
So no school Monday or Tuesday, and all after-school activities for those days will be rescheduled.
