Dade Sheriff's Department Report: Crime Roundup



On Sunday at about 3 p.m., Dade County deputies in the area of Morganville Ridge Road spotted a vehicle that dispatch had advised them to be on the lookout for. The vehicle was traveling on Morganville Ridge Road toward Slygo Road. The deputies observed the vehicle crossing the center line several times and crossing into oncoming traffic.


The deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle in the 3000 block of Slygo Road. The driver, Kenneth Kovacevich (right), 63, of Trenton, was arrested for DUI, Failure to Maintain Lane, Open Container, and Driving on a Suspended License.


On Thursday, Sept. 7, at approximately 11 a.m., deputies went to a residence on Brow Road attempting to locate a subject wanted under a warrant from Walker County. Deputies made contact with Melanie Foster (left), 63, of Trenton, verified the warrant through Walker County, and took her into custody. After she was in custody, it was found that she was in possession of methamphetamine and multiple different pills. She was transported to the jail.


On Aug. 29 at approximately 3 p.m,, deputies went to a residence on New Home Road to check for a subject who had warrants. While checking other subjects at the residence, deputies came in contact with Cara Broom, (right), 28, of Rossville.

The deputies found that Broom had an outstanding warrant and she was taken into custody. It was also found that Broom was in possession of a Schedule 2 Drug.
