DeKalb Sheriff's Office Auctions Drug Vehicles

On Sept. 9, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office held an auction to sell three old sheriff’s office vehicles as well as another vehicle and ATVs that the DeKalb County Drug and Major Crimes Unit had seized over the past few years. The unit has to go through a court process to be awarded these vehicles for the purpose of sale.

The sale of these vehicles was a success with a total of $33,275. This money will be put back into the Drug and Major Crimes Unit for the purpose of day to day operations and to buy equipment that will be needed.

Chief Deputy Edmondson says “We are glad that we have the courts to work with us in seizing these vehicles that were used in drug trade in our county. This money will be used strictly to equip the Task Force agents with the supplies and equipment that they need on a day-to-day basis. Having these supplies and equipment helps the agents in DeKalb County to fight the war on drugs.”
