Hayrides Start This Weekend at Cloudland Canyon

The Friends of Cloudland Canyon State Park kick off their popular tractor-drawn hayrides this Saturday and hope Dade will turn out in force for this autumnal family fun.

The hayrides, routed to showcase the beautiful fall colors at Cloudland Canyon State Park, will be offered every Saturday afternoon Sept. 23 through Nov. 4. Hayrides depart from the G3 building, near the start of the disc golf course, continuously from noon through 5 p.m.

Hayride admission is $6 for adults, $3 for children 2-12, free under 2, and includes games, temporary tattoos, bubble station, sandbox, sidewalk chalk and coloring. These activities will be open from noon-6 p.m. Hot dogs, soft drinks, snacks and warm apple cider will be available for purchase.

The Fine Neighbors String Band (right) will play bluegrass 2-5 p.m. this Saturday as well as on Sept. 30 and Oct. 7 and 21.

Cloudland Canyon also offers spectacular hiking and biking as well as pond fishing, disc golf, picnicking, camping, and informative Interpretive Center programs. Plan to spend the whole day in the beautiful outdoors!

There is a $5 per vehicle Georgia State Park parking fee for those who don't have a yearly Park Pass. The Dade County Public Library, incidentally, has several Park Passes that may be checked out for free like books.

Cloudland Canyon State Park is located at 122 Cloudland Canyon Park Road in Rising Fawn, GA.

Cloudland Canyon, located just minutes from Trenton, is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region. Friends of Cloudland Canyon is a
