Checking out numerous complaints about drug activity and a tip that a runaway from Tennessee was there, officers from the DeKalb County (Ala.) County Drug and Major Crimes Unit and the Fort Payne Police Department went to a residence on County Road 79 in Fort Payne. As a result, the juvenile runaway was recovered, and two adults at the home were arrested on drug charges.

The Drug and Major Crimes Unit found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside the residence, arresting Christopher Adam Berry(left), 40, and Ricky Lee Beavers

(right), 56, both of Fort Payne. Both were charged with unlawful possession of controlled substances and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

The juvenile was taken in custody and turned over to Tennessee authorities.

Chief Deputy Michael Edmondson commented: “Thank you to the citizens for calling in these complaints and tips on the juvenile being at this residence. Fort Payne Police and the Drug and Major Crimes unit did a great job working together on this case.”
