On Monday, DeKalb County (Ala.) Sheriff’s deputies and investigators and Sylvania and Henagar police officers, looking for suspects in a string of burglaries in the area, instead arrested four young people for drug trafficking.
The arrests came about as a result of a traffic stop in the Henagar area. After a K-9 alert on the vehicle, a search was conducted and methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and two handguns were found. All four individuals in the car were arrested and transported to the DeKalb County Detention Center, all charged with drug paraphernalia, carrying concealed weapon and distribution of controlled substance.
These were identified as Christian Chase Holland (left), 20, of Pisgah; Michael Alexander Glass (right) 21, of Henagar;
Hannah Leah Fordham (below left), 20, of Griffin, Ga., and Courtney Danielle Priest (below right) 21, also of Griffin.
Chief Deputy Michael Edmondson commented: “These arrests were a result of a large officer presence in the Henagar-Sylvania area due to the rash of burglaries that have been taking place. All of these officers did a great job on being observant during this traffic stop.”
Sylvania Police Chief Darren Myers said: “We here at the Sylvania Police Department work closely with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputies and investigators, DeKalb County Drug and Major Crimes Unit, and Henagar and Rainsville Police Departments. I want to thank them for all of their help and support during these break-ins, and thanks to all that have assisted. We look forward to working with them in bringing all that are responsible for these break-ins to justice.
