Library News: Have I Told You Lately What We Have for Cheap or Free?

From time to time, I like to remind readers of the services the library offers, beyond just checking out books.

The library offers free access to the internet, local newspapers, the Microsoft Office Suite, GALILEO, Learning Express, Ancestry.com, family history files and community information. We have voter registration forms available at the library and, during tax season, we have some tax forms available. We offer weekly children’s programs, as well as some programs for teens and adults. Most months we have a computer class at the library.

Patrons may use our scanner to scan and send documents, and we have the following equipment which can be used by patrons: 3D scanner and printer, VHS to DVD converter, a Wacom tablet and Photo/Film/Slide scanner.

Some services do involve a charge: making black and white or color copies, sending or receiving a fax and copying and/or enlarging pictures. Our meeting room and Computer Lab are available for rental. The meeting room may also be used free of charge, depending on the purpose of the meeting. For more information, call the library at (706) 657-7857.

We still have the Dade County historical ornaments for sale at the library. We have the Courthouse, Dyer Mercantile and a few of Sitton’s Mill. They are $15 each. We are still taking orders for sets of 12 ornaments for $150. Please come by the library and fill out an order form and leave a check or cash. We will call you when they come in.s\
