Library News: Get Out of Library Debt and Feed the Hungry With Food For Fines

The Book Club meets Tuesday, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m. at the library. We will be discussing Alas, Babylon by Pat Frank. All are welcome.

It's November now. If you haven't started your Christmas shopping, consider getting our historical Dade County Christmas ornaments. They are $15 each--we have the Dade County Courthouse, Dyer Mercantile and Sitton's Mill--or $150 for the complete set of 12.

Thursday, Nov. 16, is our Family Movie. It begins at 3:30 p.m. and we’ll have free popcorn and water. Call (706) 657-7857 for the title.

Remember that the library will be open on Monday, Nov. 20, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. We are not usually open on Mondays, but this is to help make up for being closed for Thanksgiving. The library will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and the Friday following Thanksgiving, the 23rd and 24th. We will reopen on Saturday, Nov. 25.

Food for Fines will continue through Nov. 22. One can of food will pay off $1 in library fines, up to $10. The canned food will go to the Tri-State Food Bank. Help the Food Bank and help yourself at the same time!
