County Offices Close at Noon

Dade County offices close today at noon due to the upcoming snow menace. Snowflakes have not yet begun to fall but are predicted to commence their fateful downward plummet shortly.

Meanwhile, county schools have closed and the Dade Health Department issued a notice it would not open at all today. Dade Superintendent Jan Harris has said she'll issue a notice about whether the schools will open Wednesday later today. County Clerk Don Townsend said Executive Chairman Ted Rumley will make the call about the county around 6 a.m. Wednesday morning.

"Temperatures are predicted to fall into the single digits tonight," announced Townsend. "Therefore if County roadways are icy in the morning please heed extreme caution Wednesday morning before driving to work."
