The Sexual Assault Victims Advocacy Center is pleased to announce the addition of Amy Long to the Center’s staff in Fort Oglethorpe as a full-time professional counselor.
The Sexual Assault Victims Advocacy Center serves Catoosa, Dade and Walker counties from its Fort Oglethorpe location. The Center provides counseling for survivors of sexual assault and their family members or significant others, forensic medical exams for adult and adolescent victims of sexual assault, a 24-hour crisis helpline (706-419-8775), court accompaniment and ongoing advocacy and support groups for victims and their families. The Center also seeks to promote community awareness and to educate students and the community about the nature of sexual assault, in terms of prevention and the need for support to its survivors.
Amy Long comes to the job with over five years' experience working with trauma victims, teens and families. She is a native of Catoosa County and has lived in the area for most of her life. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s in professional counseling from Liberty University, Lynchburg, Virginia.
