Sgt. Chad's Weekly Arrest Roundup



Sgt. Chad Payne, information officer for the Dade County Sheriff's Office, reported as follows on Monday, April 2.

On Friday, March 30, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a Dade County deputy was dispatched to the Mapco on Highway 299 in response to a call about a suspicious male.

After making contact with the male, the deputy found that he had several warrants from other agencies. Also, the male was in possession of a schedule 4 drug and several stolen items from a local Dollar General Store.

The subject, Austyn C. Gore, 21, of Chattanooga,


was taken into custody and transported to the Dade County Jail. He was charged with

  • Shoplifting

  • Possession of a Schedule 4 Drug

On Saturday, March 31, at approximately 5:40 p.m., a Dade County deputy observed a male in a vehicle in the area of Cantrell Road whom he knew to have a felony warrant through Dade County. The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and verified the warrant.


After a brief investigation into the traffic stop, the offender was found to be in possession of a substance thought to be methamphetamine. He was taken into custody and transported to the Dade County Jail.

Byron R. Gentry, 44, of Cartersville, Ala., was charged with

  • Possession of Methamphetamine withe intent to distribute

  • Possession of Drug Related Objects.
