Dade Sheriff Department Welcomes Two New Deputies

Dade County Sheriff Ray Cross wishes to announce his two newest deputies and their appointments within the Dade County Sheriff's Office.

Deputy Charles Flatt Jr. (left) graduated the police academy and has been assigned to road patrol "B" shift. Deputy Flatt is a lifelong resident of Dade County and a military veteran, and his family has a long history of public service.


Deputy Buddy Waters (right) graduated the police academy and has been assigned as the sheriff's office community service officer. Duties included with that responsibility are:

  • Supervision of inmate workers;

  • Coordinating and supervising inmate worker trash details;

  • Assignment of inmate workers;

  • Supervising community service workers.

Sheriff Cross is very proud of these two deputies and is very happy with what they both have to offer the citizens of this county.
