Library News: Don't Forget Glow Run Next Friday!

The book selection for the May Book Club meeting is The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood. This is a fictional account of a totalitarian society controlled by a fundamentalist regime where women are treated as property of the state. The Book Club meets on the third Tuesday of the month, which will be Tuesday, May 15, at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Remember that if you live in the state of Georgia, work in the state of Georgia or own property in Georgia, you can get a library card free of charge. With a library card, you can check out books and movies and access our electronic download service. You can also use your library card number to log into the library’s computers. People who do not have a card are charged one dollar for a temporary password to use the computers. Cards for out-of-state patrons are $25 a year.

Mark your calendars—Summer Reading signups begin May 7, less than a month away. Patrons can go to our website at chrl.org to sign up and then pick up their packets whenever they are at the library. There will be summer reading activities for children, teens and adults.

Don’t forget to come out for the Glow Run on April 27 for child abuse awareness. It will take place at 8 p.m. at the Dade County High School track.
