DeKalb Busts Trenton Women for Meth



On Tuesday, DeKalb County (Ala.) Drug Task Force agents conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of County Road 155 and County Road 814 in the Higdon community. Agents conducted a search of the vehicle and found a quarter-ounce of methamphetamine, digital scales and marijuana hidden in a magnetized compartment.

As a result, Regina Darlene Cuzzort (left), 53, of Trenton, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of marijuana 2nd. Also arrested was Brittney Leighsha McCloud (below), 31, also of Trenton. She was charged with unlawful possession of controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.


As Ms. McCloud was being placed in the patrol vehicle it was discovered that McCloud was holding methamphetamine in her hand. Both Cuzzort and McCloud were transported to the DeKalb County Detention Center.

DeKalb Chief Deputy Michael Edmondson commented: “The Drug Task Force agents did a great job on being observant in this case. Being able to rid drugs from our county is one of our priorities in keeping our citizens safe.”
