Trenton Suspect Accused of Flashing Genitals at Chattanooga Children

On Friday, the Dade County Sheriff's Office was notified by Chattanooga Police Department personnel that they had obtained warrants on Thomas J. Wooten of Trenton, a registered sex offender in our county. The Chattanooga officers advised that the suspect had been seen attempting to solicit a minor, and they had several reports of a male matching his description flashing his genitals at children around Chattanooga.

They requested our assistance in locating the suspect, and at approximately 5 p.m., Dade County deputies took the suspect into custody without incident on those warrants issued by the Chattanooga PD.

The warrants we were provided, issued by Chattanooga PD, were:

  • Enticing a Minor

  • Indecent Exposure.

Wooten, 35, is currently being housed in the Dade County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Hamilton County.

Dade County Sheriff Ray Cross wants everyone to know that we were happy to assist Chattanooga PD in getting this accused sex offender off our streets, and that the safety of our children is paramount.
