Sgt. Chad Payne is information officer for the Dade County Sheriff's Office. This is his report for last week, a busy one For Dade County law enforcement.
On Thursday, May 17, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Dade Deputy Summer Raley conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 3000 block of Highway 301. After a brief investigation, Deputy Raley found that several items in the vehicle were possibly related to a burglary that had just occurred on Hartline Road.
Dade deputies also located drugs and drug- related items inside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the impound lot for processing, and the incident was turned over to Dade County investigators.
All three occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody and transported to the jail for booking. Charges are pending investigation in reference to the above-mentioned burglary for all three subjects.
Meanwhile, Jordan B Gold (left), 24, of Bryant, Ala., was charged with possession of marijuana. Heather N Dodson (right), 29, of Trenton, was charged with possession of drug-related objects, and Zachary J. Harrison (below), 27, also of Trenton, was charged with possession of a Schedule 4 drug and possession of drug-related objects.
Also on Thursday, May 17, at approximately 3 p.m., Dade County K-9 handler Sgt. Casey York was dispatched to a possible burglary in progress on Ponderosa Drive. Upon the arrival of the deputies, they located two suspects on the premises. During their investigation into the complaint, the deputies found grounds to arrest the two subjects for burglary and theft by taking, and they were transported to the jail for booking.
After the suspects arrived at the jail, at approximately 3:30 a.m. Friday morning, Dade County detention staff found the male inmate attempting to escape from a holding cell. They found him breaking out portions of the ceiling, causing damage to the inside of the cell. Additional charges were added to the male subject for this incident.

His companion, Amber A Turner (left), 30, of Flat Rock, Ala., has been charged with burglary and theft by taking.
On Saturday, May 19, at approximately 12:15 a.m., Dade County Deputy Dustin Coffman was given a lookout for a vehicle by Sheriff Ray Cross, in the area of Highway 11 and Highway 136, which was failing to maintain its lane of travel.
Deputy Coffman located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.
After a brief investigation, Deputy Coffman located over two pounds of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a powder substance believed to be cocaine and two firearms.
The driver of the vehicle was transported to the jail for booking, and all drug evidence was packaged for testing.
