Come Downtown to the 1945 Dade County Fair for July 4 Bash!

Wednesday is Independence Day, in Dade, the culmination of months of planning for a daylong celebration staged by the local chamber of commerce. Organizer Nathan Wooten did a good job praying it wouldn't rain--no precipitation is in the forecast--but the bad news is it's supposed to be 93 degrees.

So stay hydrated, keep to the shade when you can, but organizers urge you to bring the family and come out to commune with your community. Here's a schedule of events. Festivities begin at 2 p.m. at Jenkins Park and last until fireworks at dark. Enjoy!
