Historic Davis School Celebrated Aug. 11

An all-classes reunion for Davis School will be held on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Dade Senior Center. Lunch is potluck. Join us as we share good food and good conversation about the school and the community.

Davis School opened in 1936. The school burned in 1946 and many community volunteers worked hard to help restore it. The high school and middle school classes were consolidated with Dade County's in the early 1970s, but the renovated school building still stands and currently serves as Davis Elementary.

Davis graduates have gone on to serve their community in many ways, following the example of those who were instrumental in establishing the local school.

I am Jane Freeman Ellison, and I graduated Davis in 1966. I would love to hear from graduates from across the country. I can be reached at (706) 224-5553 if there are questions. Please join us on Aug. 11!
