GSP IDs Two Sunday Wreck Fatalities


On Sunday evening at 10:07 p.m., troopers from Georgia State Patrol Post 41 LaFayette were dispatched to a one-vehicle collision on Georgia 157 near Nickajack Road in Walker County. The investigation into the collision shows that a 2000 Toyota Four Runner was traveling south on Georgia 157 and was negotiating a curve to the right. The driver of the Four Runner failed to properly negotiate the curve and left the roadway on the west side of Georgia 157, struck a guardrail face and overturned, finally coming to rest in a private driveway.

The driver of the vehicle, Edward David Kendrick, 44, of Rising Fawn, was partially ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. Two juvenile passengers were transported to T.C. Thompson's for treatment. The accident investigation is ongoing at this time.

On Monday morning at 12:15 a.m., troopers were dispatched to Dade County to a onevehicle accident on Georgia 136 east of Piney Road. The investigation into this accident shows that a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling west on Georgia 136 and was negotiating a curve to the left. The driver of the Chevrolet failed to properly negotiate the curve and left the roadway on the south side. The Chevrolet rolled onto its driver’s side and struck a tree.

The passenger of the vehicle, Brittney Morrow, 25, of Chattanooga, was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was transported to Erlanger Medical Center for treatment. His current condition is unknown.

The accident investigation is ongoing at this time.
