On July 9, at approximately 6 a.m., Dade County deputies were dispatched to a possible burglary in progress on Saddle Club Road. When the deputies arrived, they found the suspect being held by the homeowner in the front yard.
The homeowner advised that he had found the subject on his front porch with a crowbar and with the homeowner's dog on a leash. After looking around the residence, it was found that articles from an outbuilding had been removed and were also scattered around the residence. The subject also had the homeowner's vehicle keys in his possession.
The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Dade County Jail for booking, where he is currently being held.
The suspect maintained throughout the arrest that the dog he had on the leash was his, and was not the homeowner's dog. The dog was returned safely to the homeowner.
