Sgt. Chad Reports Drug Arrest



Sgt. Chad Payne, information officer for the Dade County Sheriff's Office, was going over his files recently (it was a cloudy day on the beach) when he came across this arrest from earlier in the month he had neglected to share.

On July 3, at approximately 2 a.m., a Dade County deputy observed a vehicle traveling on Highway 136 with window tint that was too dark for legal limits.

The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and observed what appeared to be marijuana in the floorboard of the vehicle. During the traffic stop, items consistent with the distribution of drugs were also found inside the vehicle, as well as additional narcotics.

The two occupants of the vehicle were arrested and transported to the Dade County Jail, where Mr Henson is still being housed.


Trevor D Henson, 19, of Trenton, was charged with

  • Possession of Methamphetamine

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance

  • Possession with the Intent to Distribute Drugs

  • Possession of Marijuana

  • Possession of Drug Related Objects

  • Prescription Drugs Not Kept in Original Container

  • Driving Without License on Person

  • Altered License Plate

  • No License Plate

  • Window Tint Violation.


Savannah M. Russ, 18, also of Trenton, was charged with

  • Possession of Methamphetamine

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance

  • Possession with the Intent to Distribute Drugs

  • Possession of Marijuana

  • Possession of Drug Related Objects .

  • Prescription Drugs Not Kept in Original Container.
