Sgt. Chad Payne is information officer for the Dade County Sheriff's Office.
On Tuesday, Oct. 16, at approximately 11:30 p.m., the Trenton Police Department was dispatched to Killian Avenue for a possible burglary in progress. Dade County deputies also responded to assist the Trenton PD.
When the deputies arrived on scene, they checked the front door of the residence. A subject opened the door, then shut it back immediately. A deputy then went around the back of the residence and saw the subject jumping out a window. The deputy pursued the subject on foot and took him into custody.
After arriving at the jail. the subject was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. He is currently still in the Dade County jail with a $10,000 bond.
The subject, Marcus A. Prince, 27, of Herington, Kansas, was charged with
Possession of Methamphetamine
Obstruction of Law Enforcement Officers.
