Dr. Jan Harris, superintendent of Dade Schools, announced by text on Monday evening that school will be delayed two hours on Tuesday morning because of the threat of severe weather.

The schools were in session and went into emergency mode last Thursday, Nov. 1, when the National Weather Service detected a tornado threat in our area and Dade's new emergency warning tower sounded the alert. No tornadoes touched down in Dade or the surrounding counties that day.

Dr. Harris has seemed during her tenure in Dade to follow an overall better-safe-than-sorry weather policy.
