The Friends of the Library have a new Dade County Historical Christmas ornament for sale. This one is of Trenton United Methodist Church. The pewter ornament is available now at the library and costs $15. Those of you who already have a set of these ornaments will want to add this one to your collection.
If you are not familiar with our ornaments, there is a set of 12 of them already, with the new one making 13. If you would like to purchase the entire set, the cost is $165 and you will need to pay when you order. It usually takes a couple of weeks or less to get an order back. You can leave a check or cash at the library or mail it to us: Dade County Public Library, P.O. Box 340, Trenton, GA 30752. Be sure to include your contact information so that we can let you know when they come in.
The Book Club will meet on Tuesday, Nov/ 20, at 7 p.m. to discuss Consider the Fork: A History of How We Cook and Eat by Bee Wilson. This book blends history, science and personal anecdotes to reveal how our culinary tools and tricks came to be and how their influence has shaped food culture today. You are welcome to join us.
At our December meeting, we will have a little Christmas party and select our books to read for the coming year. Anyone interested can join us and nominate a book, if you wish.
Remember, there will be FREE cooking classes at the library on Wednesdays throughout the month of November. They will focus on tasty, easy, inexpensive plant-based cuisine. The classes are from 5 to 6 p.m. on Nov. 14, 21 and 28. The themes are chips and dips, dessert day and International night. For more information: email

The library will be having its annual Food for Fines drive throughout the month of November. We will accept up to 10 cans of food to cancel out up to $10 in overdue fines.
