Sgt. Chad Reports: Girl in Critical Condition After Multiple-Car I-24 Collision Saturday

Sgt. Chad Payne is information officer for the Dade County Sheriff's Office.

At 11:53 a.m on Saturday, Nov. 17, Dade County deputies were dispatched to Interstate 24 at Exit 169 (Wildwood) for a multiple-vehicle accident with injuries. Arriving on scene, they found that a roll-back tow truck hauling two vehicles had struck a van that was occupied by multiple subjects--a family.

The van had then struck three other vehicles before coming to rest.

Dade County Deputies found an unresponsive juvenile female inside the van and immediately began CPR. Upon arrival of the medics, they took over CPR and transported the juvenile to the hospital, where she is in critical condition.

The Georgia State Patrol Accident Reconstruction Team is working the incident, and no further info is being released at this time. As of 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, one land was still closed on Interstate 24.
