BRRR! Library Has Had No Heat For a Month!

We’ve spread a lot of Christmas cheer at the library this month, but most of our events are over. Just a reminder: We will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 25 and 26. We will re-open on the 27th with Ready-to-Read.

We’ve had our Book Club meeting to choose the books we will read for next year and I should be able to have that list in next week’s column.

What is our most asked question when we get phone calls at the library? It is “When do you close?” or “How late do you stay open today?” So here is a timely reminder of our hours:

Tuesday, 10 a.m.-7; Wednesday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Thursday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The library is closed on Sunday and Monday.

And, yes, we do make copies of papers and pictures, we send and receive faxes, and computers are available for your use.

Please give our staff a kind word when you are here. The library has had no heat for over a month, but the library has remained open and our staff has bundled up and continued to take care of our patrons’ needs. Let them know you appreciate it.

We have about three Christmas ornaments of Trenton Methodist Church left for $15 each. We also have some of the Dade Historic Courthouse and of the Dyer Mercantile Building. The Dyer Mercantile ornaments have been reduced to $10 each.

Thanks to all who have purchased ornaments. The proceeds will be used by the Friends of the Library to purchase materials for library programs.
