On Saturday, Dec. 15, at approximately 12:30 am, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was requested by the Dade County Sheriff’s Office to assist in a death investigation in Rising Fawn. A male subject identified as Justin Alfrey, 32, of Valley Head, Ala., was found shot to death in his vehicle at 106 Highway 11, Rising Fawn.
Witnesses near the scene describe a Chevrolet truck leaving the area close to where the victim was found. GBI processed the crime scene for evidence and took tire impressions. The autopsy of Alfrey is being conducted at the GBI Medical Examiner’s office on Monday, December 17.
The GBI and Dade County Investigators are continuing to follow leads at this time. Authorities are asking the public to contact the Dade County Sheriff’s Office at 706-657-3233 or the GBI at 706-624-1424 if they have any information related to Alfrey’s death.
