Drug Car Passengers Charged After Driver Runs For It

Sgt. Chad Payne is information officer for the Dade County Sheriff's Office.

At approximately midnight Sunday night, a Dade County deputy observed a vehicle with no tag lights traveling on Highway 299. Upon initiation of a traffic stop, the vehicle fled and came to a stop on the parking lot of the Pilot gas station on Highway 299.


When the vehicle came to a stop, all three occupants exited the vehicle and ran. Deputies were able to take a male and a female ​​into custody, but the driver got away. The driver was later identified, and warrants will be taken.

Joshua D. Combs, 25, of Trenton, was charged with

  • Possession of Methamphetamine

  • Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute

  • Possession of Marijuana

  • Fleeing and/or Attempting to Elude

  • Possession of Drug-Related Objects


​​​​Savannah M. Russ, 18, of Trenton, was charged with

  • Possession of Methamphetamine

  • Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute

  • Possession of Marijuana

  • Fleeing and/or Attempting to Elude

  • Possession of Drug-Related Objects
