Meet Dade's New Extension Agent

The Dade County University of Georgia Extension office kicks off 2019 by welcoming the newest member of the team. Sarah Flowers started work last week as the Dade County agriculture and natural resources extension agent.

Ms. Flowers is a native of Groveland, Fla., where she grew up in an agricultural family that raised cattle and watermelons. She earned a bachelor’s degree in animal science with a focus on beef cattle production from the University of Florida in 2016. She then completed both a master’s degree in animal science and one in business management from the University of Florida in 2018.

Ms. Flowers says she's eager to learn all there is to know of Dade County and how she can best serve the community through her role in the UGA Cooperative Extension service. She is excited to meet the local farmers and community residents and to begin working with the county's youth in the Dade County 4-H program.

The Dade County UGA Extension office would like to extend an invitation to the community to stop by and meet Ms. Flowers. The Extension office will be hosting an open house meet-and-greet on Friday, February 1, from 4-6 p.m in the Ag Building (located in front of Dade Middle School off Highway 136 West. Stop by the event to meet the new agent and the Dade County UGA Extension team.
