Our Book Club met last week and had a good turnout. We appreciates having a visit from John and Becky Currie, who own the local bookstore here in Trenton, Books Never Ending: Books New and Used. They let us know that they could order books for members of the Book Club. John said it takes about a week to get a used book, and a couple of days to get a new one.
Remember, our Book Club meets on the third Tuesday of each month, so we will be meeting on Tuesday, February 19, at 7 p.m. to discuss our next book, Magpie Murders by Anthony Horowitz.

Dade Family Connections will meet on Thursday, January 24, at noon at the library. Lunch will be served.
This month’s Family Movie will be on Saturday, January 26, at 11 a.m. with popcorn and water served. Bring the kids and enjoy a movie. Call the library at (706) 657-7857 for the title.
Our Prime Time program aimed at kids from 6 to 10 will begin on Tuesday, February 5. The program is from 6-7:30 p.m. and teachers will focus on reading and discussion. This is a family program, so parents will be involved. There will be activities for older and younger kids as well and a meal will be served. Please call or come by the library to register for the free program as we need to know how many kids to prepare for--again (706) 65-7857.
Georgia History Festival’s statewide celebration of “Super Museum Sunday" is February 10. Visitors will be admitted free on that day to all Georgia Historic Sites such as the Dahlonega Gold Museum, the Chief Vann House in Chatsworth, Etowah Indian Mounds and Roosevelt’s Little White House in Warm Springs. The Dade County Historical Society still has some historical calendars for sale. Some of the pictures are the Courthouse, Gross Mercantile, the Nisbet house in Cloverdale, the Cole Plantation home
and family, the old jail, the home and family of Isaac Houston Wheeler, Sitton’s Mill, the Easley Plantation in Rising Fawn, John L. Case Mercantile, the Oddfellow’s Building, and an early picture of Rising Fawn School. This year’s calendars are made with a heavier stock of paper, and the picture quality is better than last year’s, but the price is still $10.
