At Monday afternoon’s February meeting of the Dade County Board of Education, Superintendent Jan Harris and the board members announced a couple of high-profile retirements:
Debra Brackett director of federal programs, will retire effective June 30. So will Dr. James Cantrell, director of operations/transportation.
All four school principals will remain at their jobs for the upcoming 2019-’20 school year. That’s James Fahrney at Dade County High, Dr. Sandra Spivey at Dade Middle, Tracy Blevins at Dade County Elementary and Josh Ingle at Davis School.
At Central Office, Patti Johnson will remain director of academics and testing and Susan Reyes director of special programs/pre-K.
The board confirmed the following coaching assignments for the new school year: Bradley Warren, DCHS head track coach and Allison Warren, DCHS assistant track coach.
Teacher Lisa Davidson was approved for an extended day to teach a biology class. Leave requests were granted for DCHS employees Christina Halmett and Cindy Moore.
The board accepted the resignations of DCHS teacher Rhonda Duvall, cafeteria worker Cynthia Sullivan and kindergarten paraprofessional Laura Wood.
