This morning, members of the Jackson County (Ala.) Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division and Patrol Division and Athens Police Department
Criminal investigators executed a search warrant at a residence on County Road 401 in Jackson County. This search was conducted as part of an ongoing joint investigation into a series of armed robberies of Dollar General Stores in Woodville, Huntsville, Decatur and Athens, Ala. As a result of this search, evidence items were located which established that Colton Eugene Fikes was involved in these armed robberies.
Fikes,, 28, was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery in connection with the March 5 Woodville Dollar General Robbery. He was transported to the Jackson County Jail without incident and bond was set at $20,000.
Additional charges are anticipated in Huntsville, Decatur and Athens for similar robberies.
Jackson law enforcement has been seeking a suspect in this case ever since the Woodville store was robbed in March by a man who threatened store employees with a gun, took an undisclosed amount of cash and made his getaway on a bicycle.
