The Dade County 4-H shotgun team recently travelled to Chattooga County for a friendly practice competition with the Chattooga County 4-H shotgun team. The two counties merged team members to form mixed groups for team competition in modified trap.
The 4-H’ers got a taste of the qualifying competition atmosphere, got in some good practice time, focused on individual and team building skills, plus got to eat pizza with their new friends. The group of around 40 team members and parents will see each other again at the Union County Modified Qualifying Match in Blairsville on April 20.
The two counties hope to continue this new tradition of practice matches. Good luck to both teams at qualifying (but especially ours).
If you are interested in joining the Dade County 4-H Shotgun Team next year, contact the Dade County Extension office at (706) 657-4116 for more information. Students must be in the seventh through twelfth grade and must show proof of passing the Georgia Hunter Safety course.
